Working with the Master (Head) Grower and/or Production Manager, the Production Associate performs a variety of tasks in cultivation, harvesting, and processing operations in licensed cannabis production facilities to ensure compliance with the Cannabis Act as well as other applicable regulations.
This competency-based training program provides students with the necessary skills and abilities to meet standard operating procedures in all job functions. Students are instructed on how to perform grow operations such as soil preparation, propagation, transplanting, watering/fertigation, defoliation, trimming and pruning, harvesting, and inventory management. Monitoring and inspecting crops to determine plant health (identifying pests and disease), taking pest control measures to maintain crop health, as well as cleaning and sanitizing production rooms and equipment will also be covered.

Suggested Background
Participants should be generally familiar with horticulture (or similar agricultural, food, pharmaceutical, or related industrial) operations. Experience in greenhouse and/or agricultural operations would be beneficial.

Production Associate / Apprentice Level
This badge represents that the student has achieved competency in the subject matter at the level for which it was awarded.
Students will be taught to follow health and safety, environmental and quality control procedures in production operations to meet or exceed Health Canada and other applicable regulations, and maintain consist production standards.
The duration of this course is 2 weeks. This course is one of three courses that comprise our Production Associate program. You must complete all of the courses to achieve your badge (Grow Operations and Plant Health)
Course dates: Apr 15 - 28, 2019
Tuition: $430 + tax
Students will learn to execute Standard Operating Procedures to prepare soil, propagate starter plants, transplant plants throughout the growth cycle, water and fertilize plants, trim and prune plants to optimize growth, harvest crops, and manage plants and harvested crop inventory.
The duration of this course is 2 weeks. This course is one of three courses that comprise our Production Associate program. You must complete all the courses to achieve your badge.
PLEASE NOTE: It is recommended that you complete Standard Operating Procedures as a prerequisite to this course.
Course dates: Apr 29 - May 12, 2019
Tuition: $430 + tax
Students will learn how to successfully monitor and inspect crops to determine plant health, provide plant care and maintenance, maintain climate and environmental conditions, identify pests and disease and implement pest control measures to maximize crop development.
The duration of this course is 3 weeks. This course is one of three courses that comprise our Production Associate program. You must complete all the courses to achieve your badge.
PLEASE NOTE: It is recommended that you complete Standard Operating Procedures as a prerequisite to this course.
