Production Managers provide oversight, ensure compliance and manage all aspects of operations in cultivation, harvesting, processing, and related production departments in licensed cannabis production facilities under the Cannabis Act.
As a senior member of the leadership team at a licensed production facility, this program aims to equip individuals with the necessary industry specific knowledge and skills to be successful. Training will cover regulatory compliance at all levels of government, management of the horticultural production plan, as well as the development of operational and capital budgets. Oversight of all aspects of production and facility operations, including managing and mitigating risk exposure will also be covered.

Suggested Background
Participants should have progressive management and/or supervisory experience in production operations, preferably in the horticultural industry. Management experience in food, agriculture, pharmaceutical, manufacturing or related industries would be beneficial.

Production Manager / Master Level
This badge represents that the student has achieved competency in the subject matter at the level for which it was awarded.
Students will learn how to ensure compliance in propagation, cultivation, harvesting, processing and related production operations to meet or exceed Health Canada regulatory and other jurisdictional requirements.

Students are instructed how to successfully plan and manage all facility operations, including the production plan and crop schedule, to meet production goals and maintain high quality product standards. Students will learn to create and oversee operational and capital budgets to maximize return on investment.
