Yukon and Nunavut

Yukon has adopted a mixed private and public model for the distribution and sale of cannabis within the territory, with one temporary government store opening first.

Online sales will be handled by the government. Regulations and policies supporting the application process for private retailers are still under development.

In Nunavut, the Nunavut Liquor Commission (NULC) will regulate the distribution of cannabis within its territory and will be finalizing its regulations and application process for private retail stores. Note that Nunavut will also be introducing some Nunavut-controlled stores to start before introducing private retail. However, Nunavut does not anticipate opening any retail locations in 2018.
