Commercial Cannabis Automation

April 18, 2017

Written by Jayson Goodale, Cultivation Consultant Through-out the cannabis industry automation and technologies are quickly being applied and adapted to the commercial production of this specialized crop, similarly to other commercially produced crops in the horticulture or agriculture sectors. Cannabis has the availability of unique pieces of equipment when it comes to handling and harvesting. We will see several other technological and automated processes introduced as this industry evolves over the next several years. Many options currently exist, this can be a daunting task to identify which technologies to apply to a certain project or facility. Farming Cannabis in Canada

April 9, 2017

The amazing “cropportunities” coming to the Canadian agricultural sector will be monumental if we are to take the Task Force recommendations to heart. This will hold especially true as Canada is just now preparing its legal framework for recreational marijuana production and retail sales. For those seeking to expand their horizons of cultivation, a path to outdoor field grown production may be worth seeking. It should also be kept in mind that, if outdoor farming is indeed permitted, that there could be a heavy resistance (and criticism) from the already established licensed producers who have built brick/mortar for indoor production. The latest recommendations from the Task Force raise quite a few interesting points surrounding the cultivation of cannabis. What particularly stands … [Read more...] about Farming Cannabis in Canada
